John Williams' latest work, "The Book Thief" is definitely not one of his works, which fully reveals itself at the first hearing. The approach, which was to be found in parts already in "War Horse" and even more in "Lincoln" to choose an almost chamber-musical approach, finds its logical continuation here. Solo Instruments (and dialogues between such) run through the score, as always embedded in outstanding orchestral arrangements (who can still so write for an orchestra?). Perhaps best be described is the music using the term "consonant dissonance" - spherical-floating, are often consonant over dissonant chords, and that does not ever lead to an actual disharmony - a difficult to be described, as it were fascinating effect. Of course, as always, may also memorable themes not missing - the main theme and the motif on the fascination of reading stay particularly memorable. Simply amazing are the entire track "Finale" (as a structure from piano to full orchestra creates only Williams) or the piano-solo passages at the beginning and towards the end of the last track, "The Book Thief" that feel as if two pianos sound, even though it is only one. The score leaves a thoughtful and impressed, but in a different way than, say, "Schindler's List" (the effect changes might once I know the music in the context of the film). One shortcoming is the short track lengths of the album, because it is of him take better used (most tracks between one and two minutes, just "Revealing The Secret" and the final album Suite "The Book Thief" bring it on four or seven minutes). Nevertheless, the master has struck again. Of course, he invents the wheel is not new - but who would have expected that? Williams remains true to his style and manages to deliver that for which he is known - but at the same time there are so many new things to discover that you have often read between the lines. John Williams has with "The Book Thief" another work added to his oeuvre, which is worth every employment, is a truly stand-alone piece of music and proving once again that his status as one of the largest and most important composers of our time is absolutely justified. Any other composer would be happy if it were possible once such a work of Williams you're used to this quality - and he lived up to expectations, you have as a connoisseur in him. Just for the fact that made me "The Book Thief" brought to real thinking, without ever being cool, and the knowledge that I will discover the second, third, sonstwievielten still hear new and admirable, worthy of this score the highest rating , Thank you for this valuable music.
