Joy Denalane = Germany Queen Of Soul

At first, it really bothered me that Joy does not sing in German but now in English. Was I really think that went through the English language also lost part of Joy and could no longer stand out from other artists.

But when I had been listening to me first in the album, I had to realize that there really is very good. Joy combines modern hip-hop beats with old funk and soul elements of the 60s and 70s. The result is impressive.

It caused great songs, are among my favorites "Change" (feat. Lupe Fiasco), "Heaven or Hell" (Feat. Raekwon), "Stranger In This Land", the newly established and translated "Soweto 76-06" and the title track "Born & Raised".

Joys album impresses with good lyrics and diversified production. If you do not know, you could not believe that it comes from Germany and not from America. "Born & Raised" does not need to hide behind the albums of other Soul / R & B artists such as Alicia Keys, India.Arie, Erykah Badu or Jill Scott.
