*** Commissioning ***
Unpacking the TV out of the package went smoothly. The subsequent attachment of the base went smoothly with the screws provided. After all wired and switched on for the first time. The LED on the front panel blinking now short red / blue and then they lit solid blue.
Then I was greeted even the setup wizard. The search went smoothly (DVB-C).
*** Image Quality ***
The image quality surprised me then something. While the TV is "just" HD-Ready but the normal standard definition channels (via DVB-C) provides the TV is pretty good. I sit about 2.50m to 3m away from the TV and can not coarse pixelation or angular lines notice. Of course you can see when HD channels (for example ARD HD) a certain increase in details but if you do not know this enough image quality for everyday TV viewing over from. The image can then customize with various setting options to his needs. Ready-made profiles as "cinema", "dynamic" etc. are already stored, but you can also itself rotating controls to an image appeals. The viewing angle is also fine. Although you can already see a fading of colors when you (very much!) But is inclined a serious color cast, or can not find the like to the television. Otherwise, the viewing angle is stable. Even if you sit at a slight angle to the TV you recognize anything yet true color and no color fading.
I connected again even my old DVD player. Although this only has a Scart connection but also the image over here is perfectly fine. No flicker or jitter from edges etc. can be seen. Again, the image quality is completely for the movie night in order.
*** Sound ***
The tone is understandable but in the long run you will not be happy here. The TV sounds like a small tin. Garnicht powerful and tinny. However, on the back there is a digital SPDIF output. I have the TV connected to my AVR using a cinch cable and thereby enjoy even clear 5.1 sound - unless it is with the station broadcasts.
*** Appearance / Otpik ***
The TV only has a matte black frame. This will probably represent gebürstenes / geschliefenes black metal. In the bottom center of the "SHARP" is applied lettering. Directly below is also equal to the LED. The LED is either red or blue. There is also the remote control sensor is located. This can not be seen in the case, however. After some tests with the remote control of this sensor would have to be integrated with the LED. Otherwise, the design is rather unremarkable, neither particularly beautiful but not particularly ugly. It's just simply a TV and no designer furniture ;-).
The remote control is kept in the same look as the surface of the TV. The keys are sufficiently large and also the symbols agree basically by itself. Only the radius of action could be a bit bigger. You have to pay attention on it that the remote control is aimed at the TV because it does not work otherwise. But probably I'm spoiled by my Logitech Harmony Remote ;-).
*** *** Connections
On the back it has the following connections:
- 2x HDMI 1.3
- 1x Scart
- 1x USB
- 1x antenna
- 1x SPDIF digital audio output
- 1x VGA (for the terminals of a PC, for example)
- 1x analogue video (yellow + white + red)
- 1x 3.5mm jack (for headphones etc.)
- 1x CI slot
Also there is a rocker switch on the back page to the TV and be able to operate even without the remote control. This can be pressed and are also pressed normal downward and upward.
*** *** Sonsitges
As a special feature of the TV also offers even a recording function via USB stick. The USB stick can be connected on the back. I have no further use this feature only once a trial basis but because they worked without any problems. During recording, but you can not watch another program, one would have only to stop recording. A playback of the recorded Sendungnen on the PC is not possible. The recorded programs you can still only play on TV. The media player playing on the USB drive stored files easily from. Trailer in 1080p and Dolby Digital paved the TV no difficulties. The menu is clearly structured and easily recognizable. Here there is not much to complain about.
The menu screen displays when you change channels (EPG) are shown as a blue bar at the bottom. While this looks not necessarily up to date but it served its purpose fully. The white letters you can see well and there are all the information shown when you change channels (current program, the following program, current time, channel, signal quality, signal strength, etc.).
*** Conclusion ***
Anyone simply looking for a solid TV without any bells and whistles such as smart TV or the like which will be satisfied with these Ferhnseher. I have so far not regretted the purchase and the price goes for what is offered perfectly fine (have 199, - paid). To complain about only the weak, blechernde sound. Therefore, there is basically only one star deduction.
