I own all albums of Death Cab for Cutie and can really be described as a fan of the first hour. But this is a bottomless pit. What is this supposed to be? A little muse, a bit Fiona Apple, Foster the People ?. With the departure of Chris Walla as a producer and the hiring of Rich Costey Death Cab for Cutie seem to have completely lost their musical center. Trivial tooting as I would have this tape in life never have expected. I've seen the guys in 2006 in Heidelberg and had a chat with bassist Nick Harmer. I have you prophesied that they will soon play a much, much larger halls. And I was right. Also had told Nick that Transatlaticism is one of the best albums since the Beatles era. With Kintsugi this band is unfortunately arrived not only on the ground of the facts, but in the 3rd basement. This is so underground bad that I simply find no more words for it. There is nowhere where written that you have to be a lifetime an indie band. But if even then pop right. Every Taylor Swift album makes more sense than this. With this album DCFC will lose a lot of fans. Perhaps they are gaining a couple of One Direction. The same target group they have now. And then the song El Dorado - these are the Pet Shop Boys !!! Wow!
