To say it right away: In the last, say, twenty years have already had some electric shaver of the usual suspects: Braun, Philips and Panasonic. With the Panasonic I was always the most satisfied - by far. So even with this again. Since I last had a Philips SensoTouch 3D RQ1275, I will report here by my experience with the two in direct comparison.
One more thing first: My razor lying id rule in the price range approximately between 100 and 200 euros. From cleaning stations I do not think much, but this is certainly a matter of opinion. Recent Braun shaver, with which I was really happy, I had inherited from my father. That's been a while. :) After that I have been really disappointed with any Braun. Recent Philips I have I bought May and sold after three months back on Ebay. Even after several minutes of Geschrubbe, with or without foam, which Philips has not achieved what the Panasonic in three minutes or less approaches, bringing with me: smooth baby skin in the entire facial area. I am simply amazed!
So, now but to compare - what I can think of spontaneously:
Appearance and design: Philips I always tried once again, because I like them by design. A razor which is usually visible in the bathroom is, there do not look like a cheap hand tiller from the hardware store. A matter of taste, sure. The Panasonic ES-LV65, however, comes in the design competition with well. Especially because of the 5-way head it acts more massive, but it is in reality not really.
Handling: In his hand are both equally well. In the operation, I would also look at the two par. Both have a clear operating concept that is easy to understand.
Volume: Here clear scores of Philips. A low hum, otherwise you almost do not hear it, whereas the Panasonic makes quite audibly noticeable. Does not bother me (especially since the Panasonic has to work with me so only about half as long).
Battery Performance: Both have built Li-Ion batteries. And both should therefore hold out about two weeks. When Panasonic no problem. At Philips I was far away; because it was over after 6 to 8 days; certainly also because I just twice as long needed for shaving.
Charging station and transport: the Panasonic is no extra "stand" here as in Philips. For me a great advantage. Less is more. At Philips the annoying fiddling I was annoyed when I need to install the charging cable into the filigree plastic stand. Also, there is still an extra part on what to bring when traveling (because no one can not charge the shaver, so honest, who thinks like that from?) And what you lose / forget or simply what can go wrong on the way like.
Speaking of transport: When traveling, can I put the Panasonic in its supplied storage bag easily still with in my wash bag, which due to the size of the bag and the additional plastic stand has not been possible at Philips.
Travel lock: Of course, both delinquents have a travel lock. At Panasonic we recognize this with a view of the device: Simply rotate the ring on the power button on the lock icon. When Philips You have to have a look in the manual throw: there you have the power switch but then only just long enough hold. Since many perhaps only once the travel lock or need twice a year, I find the Panasonic solution better.
Cleaning: (with a little liquid soap), rinse Open, beat, under running water: When Philips with the three small shaving heads of course a little more than fumbling with the Panasonic, but overall both leave quite easily keep clean. When Panasonic can unlock another ultrasonic cleaning step, by holding down the power button for two seconds. Good thing.
Shaving performance and results: Last Of course, the killer criterion! The Pansonic shines here with a performance that has no equal. The Panasonic "creates me" as I said in three minutes, and with a fabulous result. Baby Smooth skin, no unpleasant heat development on the skin, not the least bit razor bumps. Rüberfahren Once or twice, finished. Sensational! The Philips needs loose twice as long, many times has to revolve about the same place, this creates a not half as good result, is uncomfortably warm caused on the skin and with me even after three months of use strong razor burn and skin irritation. In this discipline the Philips has failed for me resoundingly.
The Panasonic ES-LV65 has convinced me in every aspect. I am simply amazed!
