Me was horrified myself to write this review, but the horror on Qntal's new album VII was much greater. It seems to me as if Qntal Celtic Silver Swan (V) with the minimalist Translucida (VI) intersect. The result, however, is a motley fair Techno and Elektrofirlefanz with Noise-bonds and 90s kitsch. Where Silver Swan still an honorable tribute to Loreena McKennitt was kupfert VII just cocky and shamelessly from her. The Culture Clash of the Middle Ages, the Orient, Asia, electro, 90s techno, noise and Schranz is so radio friendly mainstream that I no longer get shut her mouth in shock. Fittingly, short and crisp are then also 3-4min. the songs. Some of the songs might even become beautiful if he had had more space to unfold.
My tip for potential buyers: Always observe the Listen to the album rather than just listen. Perhaps there is still a fan of the mishmash is good, but I find personally not a target group the Qntal has addressed here.
All very very bad ... That was the last album of Qntal I "blind" (by that I mean "reingehört") have purchased.
The best thing about the album is the delightfully kitschy cover including nymphs and stylized full moon glows in the dark. For this and for a few brief flashes of moments from me it two stars.
