Hello everybody. I rate this game "Arkham Horror - Curse of the Black Pharaoh (new edition)" published by Heidelberger game publisher in the German language.
Assessment criteria: gameplay, difficulty and balance, equipment, instructions, packaging. In the various criteria I forgive points from 1 to 5 and calculate the star rating the mathematical means.

Note:
It is in this article is a pure extension, want to be called a play without the basic game "Arkham Horror" is not possible. This review therefore aimed primarily at people who own the original game already.
Only the aspects of enlargement will be judged. For a review of the basic game, I refer to my article about the basic game.

Summary of the Match history:
An ancient and dark curse has befallen Arkham. Rumor has it that some of the strange artifacts from the exhibition "The Legacy of the Pharaohs" are gone. Those looking for treasures, but found nothing but unspeakable horrors. Meanwhile, a mysterious dark figure was seen in altägypthischen robes on the robes again. They say that this man is a curse to every incarnate is the met him. Fear is rampant in Arkham and only a small group of investigators, the supernatural evil that roams the streets, still reside ...

How to play:
This extension was originally the first expansion for the original game. However, it is the revised reprint. The old version of the box is not known to me. A comparison is therefore not take place here.
The Box is one of the "small enhancements", offering instead a new game plan, almost exclusively new cards. New encounters, new items, new spells, new Mythos cards. As a new mechanism which exhibits are added. These powerful items can be purchased through exhibit encounters. The exhibit encounters take different than "normal" encounters not in locations, but in street areas instead of where the marker "Ancient Whispers" is. This moves after each encounter to exhibit a new street and waits there for the next few investigators. In addition, the extension provides the harbingers "The Black Pharaoh". Harbingers are powerful servant of the great old men who support through permanent changes to the ancients. Pharaoh in particular makes it difficult to pick up equipment and exhibits with curses and stamina loss.
The gameplay does not change much in this expansion. The exhibits have a reputation for being rather unspeakably weak in our playgroup and the effort not to be worth it. The Harbinger is also rather weak. engaging changes do not exist. However, the new Begegnugen are a nice variety. I give 2 out of 5 points.

Difficulty and balance:
The first extension of the basic game, the difficulty is rather low. Although one must note that the basic game has a rather high degree of difficulty, by extension changes nothing serious, so that the difficulty actually remains on the same level. Ideal extension for beginners or for combination with other extensions. 3 of 5 points.

Features:
The cards are of the same quality as that of the base game. The few new markers are also made of cardboard. Are cards when pflegsam treated last forever because they have sufficient thickness. The markers come rarely into play, so also keep that these significantly longer than that of the base game. 5 of 5 points.

Instructions:
A folded sheet, double-sided printed. It all changes described very succinctly shortly. Everything included: changes to the gameplay, explanation of the new cards, explanation of the harbingers, combined with other enhancements. Better it is hard to make. 5 of 5 points.

Packing:
Since only a few cards and markers are included, the breakdown of the box falls better than the original game. The box also has a very good size and does not take much space during transport. 5 of 5 points

Conclusion:
In my opinion, the weakest of the extensions. However, I have to say: The Box is aimed at beginners I think more, and our group is already very advanced in the game. The Egyptian atmosphere of the box and the new encounters I like personally very well. However, the new mechanism reminds me of too low. If you ignored the exhibits, you can almost ignore the harbingers also.
Gameplay gets the box from me denoch 5 star ... The basic idea is simple and remains unshakable indeed receive. The new cards bring new wind. The price is hard to beat. Beginners and collectors can absolutely safely access.
