I have now given the new CD of LaBrassBanda some time. The first impression is not always reliable. Especially when one is "biased" by high expectations. The first album was really fantastic: played varied, original, great, great atmosphere, funny texts! The whole concept of Labrassbanda is also very sympathetic. That's why I have the new CD also blind - without the usual trial hearing in the record store of my choice - risen - with the motto "the new has to be good easy!" Unfortunately I was wrong. The new album is for me really a Enttäschung. It is not varied - both the pieces among themselves are very similar, but the songs themselves are very uninspired and unoriginal. There is a lack of new ideas or at least the attention to detail - which overseas a refined version of its predecessor could have done. Instead, the CD sounds like a second infusion. The stories "lyrics" are mostly a shallow imitation of Habedieehre - less humor and mischievousness. Labrassbanda is a great project - a super idea - and made for a great night when you experience the band in a live performance. But for a second StudioCD it is simply not enough. Nevertheless 3 stars - because there had not been "Habedieehre" - I do not know if my judgment would be sooo failed critically. But I probably would not hear about this band.
