First, the "formal". The differences between the standard edition and deluxe edition are at first glance a bit misleading. In the deluxe edition, only the last 2 tracks (fantastic version of "love and mercy" and not so great version of "In the back of my mind") are recorded as bonus tracks. The 3 songs in the middle section ("do not worry" / "somewhere quiet" / "I'm felling sad") but are also bonus tracks of the deluxe edition. 4 great tracks that the small additional cost more than justified. Too bad that the package has not luxurious; normal jewel case, the same as the standard edition. There is only one really bad song. "Runaway dancer" That's Why God Made the cd. On vinyl can not just continue to tilt. I love "safe and sound" of Capital Cities. But what Sebu Simonian delivers here Dorfdisco high 2. No matter, the rest around it is great "this beautiful day" "whatever happenend" ... at the latest here you sit in thought somewhere on the beach in the Golden State. Then the charming bossa pop with She & Him "on the Iceland". The next highlight "Guess You Had To Be There". Again with female voice in the lead vocals ... pure good humor. Some of the songs are something very melancholy in the bad sense and schlager way cheesy (the best example of "The Last Song"). Should this really be the swan song album, which is not a worthy farewell. There was the final in "that's why god made the radio" voiced. The 5th star is lost for "runaway dancer", "The Last Song" and because some songs are not bad, but at the end of the CD somehow already forgotten. Maybe it's too much for cooperation (were initially not even hochkarätigere names in the rumor mill). My favorite of Brian's solo work remains "That Lucky Sun".
