The product comes in the usual hateful thermoforming plastic packaging. I had already prepared the craft knife and Colodium because I noticed on the back on the perforation. "Here push and tearing" - so good, that we'd try ... works fine! First positive surprise - a good start, I thought. But just because the package is now "back on", I am not far from the front of the remote control. On the multilingual user manuals and the code table to get in the way though just to get to the actual remote control remains one but nothing else left than to fumble as usual at the sharp-edged plastic along and fiddle until you finally in hands holds. The fight with the packaging appears to be over and won on points.
First impression of the remote control, dibasic. Rear entire surface rubberized - I wonder if the rubber coating will survive the daily usage and how the Department will look like in 3 years, but for the moment it is first 'nice'. The border in chrome glossy look, but quite possibly plastic - I have nothing against it. Pressure point of the keys, very nice and 'crisp'. Just such a crack can feel and hear on every key, and I think that's good, I always prefer. As remote controls for which you have to press the buttons so deep inside that the finger skin cuts to the omissions
Step One - Quick Start Manual skim. Let's start with the television, the LG47LA6608 and fittingly a LG TV's in the Quick Start as an example. According to the manual "Programming via CODE input" the URC 7962, I press MAGIC until it blinks, then I dial one of the 6 inputs, of course for STB set-top box, then 2799, then MAGIC, et voilá?
Nope - nothing ... no function. Hmmm.
Again. Read the instructions, all 1: 1 do so, in 2799 ... hmmm ... again nothing. Blood pressure rises by 15 points on the mercury scale, but still nothing to be concerned about. Maybe I'm stupid or senile. Looked up again in the code book. Nee, 2799. Since Wore.
So again. Strictly by the book. Again nothing. My mood shifts, why is the code for VU + equipment in it when there GARNIX does Narda ?! But ... chamber ... always with d'Ruh, there is a plan B and even a plan C. Nothing is lost. I reckoned anyway so that all keys must be individually over-'lernen '. But first, promises the "search functions" to be a lengthy indeed, but promising crowbar method.
One should therefore press MAGIC, then the three-digit code for the search function, then power, then as long as CH + until the box reacts SOMETIME - aka. turns off. Aha, so good, have indeed bisserl time and when it then goes is welcome. So I follow the instructions and start CH + to press and according to experience (is not my first Universal-FB) he is just code for code by up then the "right" is off, the device responds and one which the FB communicates by renewed Press the enchanting MAGIC button. To all this I was ready and I squeezed and squeezed and squeezed. Standard features are what standard users, for the 'simple' image viewer. I'm a multi-media and now even 3-dimensional TV acrobat, with actual 6 remote I juggle daily as the Cirque de Soleil and to accept all, even unerringly operator without taking his eyes from the screen to appreciative amazement. So what am I doing to me - preprogrammed standard FB layouts well and good, but I knew that I end up becoming even have to lend a hand - and as the great new smart phones all only IR blaster but not 10 cents more expensive IR transmitter have & receiver, remains only a Learning Remote Control as just this. So fresh to work - PLAN C - the "Mach's Just myself, then it works at least as well" method.
PLAN C - the learning function of the URC 7962 to use all the major (and even a few unimportant - when the memory of the URC then still enough) functions by hand on each key for each device to be programmed. But I've planned 90 minutes, it certainly seemed worth thereafter unless everything works as desired.
So here we go: we press the MAGIC key, with me now a rather ambivalent feeling joyful expectation and bitter disappointment connects and bring the STB in the learning mode. If it's because first 'fast blinking' to happen very quickly everything - first arrived in the learning mode, it is enough probably alternately the URC to operate key 7962 and subsequent correspondence on which the original FB. The URC listens, understands and remembers what they're told of the good old Vorruheständlerin. The VU + is in less than 5 minutes "in it". We close with MAGIC and are ready now 'enchanted' us to leave.

... And now sit here and have my scheduled time it used to print out the return form and complain to you good people my sorrow. The tach is gone, the blood pressure has calmed down, the previous 6 FBs remain in service until a better universal remote control is found. Which résumé I can draw here?
Initially brilliant and I can understand when someone goes into raptures with a simpler TV landscape. If I only had the Magic Remote from LG with the MAGIC-Button Remote URC 7962 want to exchange of One4All, I would probably also satisfied. For URC is the learning function, the A & O, if all else is tearing the fallback default with which it then must go and this is where the 7962 failed miserably. I am more than disappointed and can say that no device so quickly (therefore probably the term of post) again had to go home with me. I write are not otherwise Renz ions, who already desire to harm my whining.
Now how are you here for me now? I once had a Logitech Harmony ... the 300 wars. The can, however, only 4 units, had the aforementioned keys without sticking point and also to be used for programming software / website is worth your own voodoo doll. But, at least the keys worked and then only a matter of Use. So I'll possibly twice invest (have) to find the end with a larger Harmony my peace of mind.
