I purchased the receiver mainly because of promised networking capabilities. I centrally manage all my media (video / music / photo) on one Synology DiskStation, I was looking for a suitable player which can play next to the DVB-S signal, the contents stored there. When the satellite receiver Xoro 8590 is exactly as good as described in such detail. Only the networking capabilities are extremely unsatisfactory. Two thirds of the videos (MPEG, AVI, TS) that run smoothly on both Windows computers and on Android devices and even on the best network television, he can not play. A classification, which he can and what not, is not recognizable to me. The stored by himself on a USB stick Video (* .ts) it will only play from USB, but not from the network, but is dependent in this case even on. The display of photos happens with indisputable resolution, playing MP3s (which now each coffee can) he denied completely. The streaming TV shows on Android tablets works as long as it does not concern HD content, quite well. Streaming on PCs would be in my view a very useful feature, but no software is offered to. My request in this regard at the hotline was answered with 'which should be'. In my view, a questionable response to customer feedback.
Summary: picture quality, service, PVR function properly, network functions unusable. Since the Xoro is exactly advertised so, there is only me of two benevolent star!
