The copper plate is of very good quality with a flat surface as it is necessary for the heat sink. Because of the thickness can actually be dissipated heat. I have attached together with thermal pads the same size there on TV unit where the processor is seated and tried to cast its warmth desperately to the metal back plate ... Now it stinks no longer by overheated electronics in 3D playback.
