The lamp provides good lighting and underwater is as a backup lamp perfectly fine.
Major drawback, however: The lamp is not suitable for salt water! My brother has had 2 weeks in the Red Sea this, after the metal parts were heavily rusted. This must not happen in my opinion in such a lamp.
For the fresh water, however, the lamp may be sufficient.
For the decent light output I forgive 2 stars.
