Liked: Subjective 5 star, objective 4 3/4

Anyone looking for a solid, beautiful, functional, well-made laptop is the Macbook Pro - as long as it does not rely on Windows programs - not go wrong. I first bought a Macbook (basic equipment) me three months ago. Subjective 5 points, objective 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 disadvantages listed for below.

I admit frankly that it is primarily the design (well, and also the display 16:10) has prompted me to purchase such an expensive laptop to me. I also wanted "a computer that works" (there's even a funny song to;)). A cheaper it would have done. In advance I would like to say that I have made no major projects such as video editing on him, did not quite exhausted the possibilities of the Mac OS and has yet to get to know some stuff, but I can review yes possibly even expand .. for now should suffice.
In order not long around the bush to talk about, I will first list the pros and cons of Macs and will try this case, both the subjective as to consider the objective sides equally. Should I be somewhat prolix, so I ask the excuse - and hope at the same time that I can help one or the other potential buyer for a decision. (- Could interfere as they do not bother me personally, but others are more objective) counterarguments Let's start with the:

- An Apple laptop - whatever it may be for one, now costs a lot of money sometimes. There is of course the possibility of a better laptop, let's say for about 600 to buy the (whichever you plan it) can fulfill completely the needs of the person concerned. However, if you want a good laptop, you should also be familiar or have desire to be informed in detail about the Internet. A 500-600 laptop always has any weaknesses either the keyboard or the display contrast, the resolution is vague, too low, it is too loud, etc. Each laptop has some disadvantage. Now, a Macbook is expensive indeed. For Mac users, the disadvantages are low - more on that later. But it's overpriced (at least the 13-inch base model) I could not tell. You just have to compare laptops of the same class, performance, display, keyboard and not with 500 laptops, then we are no longer part of the Mac's most expensive (see diverse business laptops for 1600 ..). And yet it is just a lot of money, which is a big counter-argument: Of course, you pay for with the name, which you should be aware. It's been a bit of luxury here.

- He has a glossy display. This may affect expected negative when working outdoors. He even reflects particularly because he still has a mirror above the display ;-) That's good if you want to make up and forget his mirror has (obviously kidding) (ie probably reflects more than an ordinary mirror display computer - to the benefits see below !) That's one of the reasons why I would deduct a quarter point (hahaha) - but you knew that beforehand, before you buy a Mac! As bad as I do not find it really, because the display is still very bright and good color has - a matte screen, but the poor contrast has (such as the Dell Vostro) is not much better. Still, matte displays are generally better for work.

- Compatibility. Some programs will no longer run. Then you could, of course, install Windows - but that costs again, and then I could Mans again get a Windows PC (unless you really want to have a Mac). As long as you drinbleibt in the Apple world, no problem, you want to get out, that could be difficult under certain circumstances.

- Office for Mac is less than Office for Windows (for example, it has some great features not - but it is too complicated to explain here the ;-)) Clear - it is simply a Windows program! For something cheaper.

- For a 13-inch laptop it's hard. Weighs just two kilograms, got him weighed. He works all the more difficult because one does not expect in the narrow appearance. If a weight is important, you should consider whether it is not 150 pays more and a Macbook Air buys in 13 inches, but only 128 GB of disk space, a DVD drive and in my opinion inferior (because flatter) keyboard has. The latter is a matter of taste, because I have also heard other opinions.

- If you want to make a Power Point presentation, so you need an adapter (not made any experience).
- Topic Virus Security: Apple says that they are virus free. Ok, there really is (still) less viruses for OS than Windows. In fact, they support a number of programs, could cause the virus (Java, Flash Player) just do not, do not let it, and we have taken no antivirus program. Tip: If you want to have Flash Player (you need for a lot of web pages), simply load up Google Chrome down. Because the Flash Player is integrated. Each Chrome update thus the player is "updated" with;)

- The battery is integrated. If this breaks down, you have to send in the whole device.

- I find the Finder partly somehow complicated, or used to.

So, finished. No more disadvantages (which would be noticed). Now to the advantages:

- Maintenance, yet a disadvantage: it has only two USB ports! And which are still next to each other, so that one, one has a broader USB device, not two can use simultaneously. The MacBook Air, they are opposite. That should not happen in this price range. Earlier laptops had still 4 USB ports .. then .. 3 2 now? Is probably because that Apple wants anyway to upgrade to Thunderbolt (Well, that may take, since one can hardly connect what!). Well, but I do not mind, because I anyway never more than 2 USB devices have it, because I do not use more mouse, to see below.

BENEFITS:

- I find the keyboard (for me one of the most important components of the computer) above average. This is evident especially after a long letter. The pressure point is defined, the keys are not too flat, but not too high so that you can quickly "fly over it" may. I have tried many keyboards and there was a keyboard that I found better, namely by an old Acer TravelMate (I have the exact name understandably not in the head), which was additionally ergonomically shaped. Such shaped keyboards no longer exists (via the stop I can not say anything, did the whole business laptops not tried, maybe the better, no idea. I think that here in any case very good). Some complain about the small ENTER key; but that I have no problem.

- Easy to get started: You have not, as with Windows machines, initially lots of software on it, the need to remove or edit you, but it is limited to a minimum. Very easy! I was even able to without help. And I am not a computer guru.

- The screen size 16:10 found nowadays barely. The Mac she still has what I think is very commendable. Thus, the picture looks not much smaller than that of a 15-inch laptop (I think at least). I am a person who hates small screens and can not work with them. Here there is no problem. Especially since you all through the touchpad quickly zoom (Pooh: larger) can. For this purpose in the next point.

- "Next item". Touchpad: Here I do not want to leave out too much detail, just read the other reviews and the advertising up over it. Great gestures and such. I think it's very good - I used to work with mouse, now I no longer need them. The Schrollen works beautifully, one does not have to scroll side thing (sorry, am tired, now I invent Just looking words, You know what I mean).

- So, what else? Yes. The display has great colors. Sure, it reflects that I have said above. But you can see well (handy for making movies-movies) just by the additional mirror from the side or from different angles. I think it is good that the resolution is not higher, because then the picture would be smaller.

- An as yet unnamed advantage: the feel. Sounds silly indeed to when one says that he feels very smooth by the aluminum casing, but is so. You can tell just when writing, when used on the hand. Jaja, the writing is already important, especially if you rumtippt nights on household chores ...

- It is quiet and stays cool - for me at least (but I also do not do anything special with him write it out and carry around ...)

- Ah, well. Driving fast up and immediately comes back from hibernation back, really without any delay (mora non interposita)

- I forgot to mention the design. This of course is unmatched. Hahaha. Well, it shows itself. But I can only approve of that one also produces laptops that simply look good. This is all too often neglected, even in the higher price ranges! Why not a little look onto the design and hide the fan? (Can indeed be hot in more complex tasks, but does not matter, this one has other laptops).

- MagSafe connector, blah, supra, very handy if, for example, a cat is caught in the cable ..
- Long battery life. I know these points have already been mentioned, but I personally think it's always helpful when comes the same judgment by several people.
- Good sound.
- This 13-inch model is the value for money of the best Apple laptop.

All swarm so the operating system, but I have to say that I think OS not much better than Windows XP or Windows 7. Perhaps OS is easier for persons who are less bewandelt in computer things. I like the device itself, less the operating system (is not bad, but also not insanely gorgeous). Although, already has some good features, such as the "Dashboard", where weather, calendar, notepad, dictionary and blah are displayed

Among the benefits: In itself not surprising. It would be outrageous if such an expensive laptop these benefits would not, right? You also pay for it!

So, who needs a Mac now? I think of that something beautiful and good wishes (see introduction). Those who like to rumbastelt programs, rather put to a Windows computer. Otherwise you will need not necessarily a Mac (13-inch base model, I mean), unless you really want to have one. Anyone who uses a lot of power or working with video editing or photo editing, will likely set a 15-inch model in matte, which is again hundreds of euros more expensive ..

Ah, one more thing, do not have with Amazon, but bought at Saturn.

Finally, let me say that I in no way regret the purchase (which I knew before already, because I had informed me in detail) and simply enjoy working with him. I am very, very, very, very happy with it. And that's the most important thing, for it will pay you all the money. As you get irrationally motivated by a nice laptop to work better, why not?

MAYBE I would if I could again decide a MacBook Air just buy because of the weight. But well, decided is decided and it is perhaps very good to have a drive and a lot of memory.
