Lisa Della Casa - Operatic Recital (CD)

Customer Review

A 'Operatic Recital "(1956) spent five arias by Handel (Giulio Cesare), German, accompanied by a' Crudele! ... Non mi dir 'fly high. The Wiener Philharmoniker, conducted so "Kapellmeister" Heinrich Hollreiser, and his great Decca (John CULSHAW is in control) adds a surplus value to this obvious delivery. The rest of the CD is from a 'Lieder Recital' in the same year (1956) where, accompanied by pianist Karl HUDEZ, the sumptuous Lisa Della Casa illuminates some melodies of Schubert, Brahms, Wolf and Strauss (already operated registration under the label Testament where it was coupled with a 'Frauenliebe und Leben' of 1962).

Is it necessary to talk about the influence of which each acute Dame takes you to the guts and gives you the creeps? I thought I knew my dearest Lisa and now I discover the beaches which, to be rare, can not be unpublished in CD (see the compilation "Lieder und Arien 'formerly confined to the German market). There, there, a 'PiangerĂ² way mia' / 'Wage nur, nur Klage', for example, that shakes your heart. The virtuoso passages are, they too, beautifully rendered. It is not necessary that I should go further developed: whoever heard this prima donna of the highest lineage understand that this little CD provides a delight at all times.
