Livescribe APX-00017 Pro Edition 3 Smart Pin (Personal Computers)

Customer Review

I'm using for over a year the Livescribe Echo, a really good product. This year I have filled 9 notebooks, texts page by page but also conceptual drawing with many marginal notes. Every word can on the desktop application (I use the OS X version) to be found, no matter how spidery I wrote.

The Livescribe 3 liked it right away from the design and the prospect of a mobile application (currently iOS, Android coming in 2014) with the managed the notes fascinated me.

There More Details of the pen, the packaging, processing, etc. enough reviews, I will confine myself - unfortunately - only on the no go points:
I use the Livescribe three now for over a week and have just under 40 pages written in the included notebook. And I find nothing again. With the Desktop software Echo pen - this does not work with the Livescribe 3 - I could small, large, spidery, clean, grade, crooked, narrow, wide write, it was always all recognized. In the Livescribe 3 the Schrifterkennug only works if I do not let too small Write and enough space between the lines. The supplied notebook is lined, I have exactly one row between the lines described blank so that the text will be recognized.
OCR does not refer to the page, there is still a side view, but the written text divided into individual segments Livescribe called Feeds. Per page, there may be various feeds. Mir has not yet been tapped as accurately Livescribe separates the feed. Whether I write fast or slow, usually a feed is generated per row, sometimes every two rows and sometimes every 5 rows.
In the iOS app, Pulse +, to the feed from the recognized image can be a wipe from left to right recognized in the change font and rework. Although this is very convenient to add more notes, but with an iPad or iPhone, the workflow can be time consuming. Often the recognition has gaps and the text needs to be reworked. If I had the time I could enter all on my iPad also equal a note app take natively on the iPad.
It is also possible to combine multiple feeds, not quite simple and yet flawed. Occasionally feeds can not be summarized, although these are directly among themselves.

My biggest gripe, however: As initially written, I make a lot of conceptual drawings with comments. Once a drawing next to a text is no longer working the recognition!
Example: I write "Start character recognition process" in one line and paint a box around the text, it is followed by a right arrow. The writing recognition of feed makes it: "Sjdhfehriwfh SDF ->" What is this?

Dear people of Livescribe, I hope you read this. The Echo was a great product with some weaknesses in ergonomics. Have you worked with the Livescribe 3 itself? So the device is absolutely useless to me.
