Below are some points that I want to share the interest.
1. Wide & Carl Zeiss optics:
- Even from the distance of 1 meter can be shared on the screen 3 to 4 people. Who it's too far, which can use the zoom function because the loss of quality when zooming bit is not significant. For Skype, this feature is sure gebrauchbar.
- The images are sharp to the brim. They are of course not the same everywhere but the sharp deterioration at the edge is low. The distortion due to the wide-angle optics exists of course, but it is not disturbing in my eyes.
2. Audio quality: "very good" said my opponent. Voice are very understandable and loud enough added. The sensitivity of the microphone is also good but not particularly high. But bring for video chat, the stereo microphone not much more than a mono microphone.
3. Processing & Weight: First-class workmanship and it is the joint-Machanik is also stable. Thanks to its slightly higher weight also sits on the laptop monitor stable. They can also be well put on the table.
4. usable without Logitech software in Linux. By using "guvcviewer" can record video in Linux and change the setting. I could not zoom in Linux. The Logitech software is at the B910 (not C910) not supplied version, but you can just download the Logitech website. Any function that has also C910, B910 can enjoy using the software.
5. B910 itself is identical to C910. I think it lacks only the Logitech software CD and manual. As I said the two can be downloaded for free. No reason to buy expensive brother C910, I think.
6. Video-chat goes smoothly even in an old laptop (single core AMD 2Ghz with 1G RAM), but unfortunately video recording with more than 720p is not without problems.
7. Video recording at 1080p with max. 15Bilder per second. The picture quality at 1080p is not particularly better compared to 720p.
8. Autofucus not as fast as a digital camera but not disturbing due to the wide angle.
9. The Webcam can head up and down but do not move to the left and right. But thanks to its wide-angle not normally need such a movement.
10. But for those who only want to use it for only videochat, I recommend rather the cheaper Logitech models such as C270 or C525. (I do not know but if this also wide-angle optics.) My key buying criteria were autofocus and stereo microphone and wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics. I can now appreciate, however, that the autofocus and stereo microphone for video chat are not really beneficial. Who only makes video chat and no wide-angle needs, will be happy with the cheaper brethren from Logitech.
