The authors are pleased, realizing a childhood dream, but retained the original spirit of the series. The story is inspired by Pinkerton, Scottish successful in obtaining the favors of President Lincoln (he foiled a first attack) with its detective agencies. The allusion to the FBI and the Legalization of America is evident and the forced retirement of Lucien Luck because of "professional has-been" is pretty tasty in these times of popular protests. Even the Dalton are blacklisted and the wind of madness we find some that animated scenarios of Goscinny in the big time.
The drawing Achdé is very loyal, a pity we always have to put a blade of grass in Lucky Luke mouth instead of his legendary cigarette (Mone Veil thank you!).
Hard to say if this album Hot equal the "big" Lucky Luke (basically, the first forty albums), but long ago that I had not taken much pleasure in reading an adventure of the solitary cowboy. Uderzo should well take a leaf ...
