I think the comment made by Serge above sums up the quality of the album. Also can I subscribe to every word. This group is one of the greatest rock groups of the 70s, perhaps now too. As the name rightly suggests, this album is anchored firmly in the Rock, the pure, the true, and I would even say that this is one of its main roots. Indeed, the release of this album turns a new page: the good rock, and suggests that would later be the Hard Rock. Due to the sound (characteristic of Deep Purple elsewhere) already, that rocks: basse mixture, guitar, organ. How to resist the charm of "Speed King" with his overpowering her, his voice and catchy question answering organ / guitar? How not to be sawn to listen to "Child In Time": its superb intro, its transcendent vocals, his long guitar solo, and its apocalyptic end? In short, this album is totally inovant, because of its sound, its ideas and philosophy, and is hands down the best studio album which has raised it to the Pantheon of Rock.
