On Antichrist Superstar played Mr. Manson the Lärmschani. In Mechanical Animals he mimed the Glamrocker - experiments to find his true place he has found on Holy Wood doubt! That was actually a superfluous introduction to an absolutely masterful album! Here, the band does not concentrate on a specific topic (even if death and depression are strongly in the foreground), but processed impressions, offers variety and is at a high level of entertainment. But this album is not a pure entertainment plate that you listen and forget - it is thought-provoking and contains a message. From quiet, depressive Metal ballads ("In the Shadow of the Valley of Death", "A Place In The Dirt") on musically valuable, rhythmic rock songs ("The Nobodies", "Lamb of God") to ultimate hate anthems ("The Fight Song", "Disposable Teens") is just everything there - Marilyn Manson uses his numerous (both positive and negative) experiences to construct a showpiece of rock'n'roll, that will not be forgotten so fast! This disc will not make Manson opponent Manson fans, but for metal lovers will be simply delicious - even the taste.
