EAT ME, DRINK ME provides less and less Metal Industrial for a little more pop and more rock. The lyrics are different, but they act in fact mostly of the (self-) destructive power which can spring from love and his failed marriage. I found the disc from the beginning in order, had to me but only heard a few times through to learn they really appreciate. Hits such as The Nobodies, The Beautiful People or THE FIGHT SONG I could not recognize namely first. The CD even seemed quite monotonous.
However, I am very glad that I gave the album more passes. PUTTING HOLES IN HAPPINESS, THE RED CARPET GRAVE, ARE YOU THE RABBIT ?, EAT ME, DRINK ME or the Single Heart Shaped GLASSES are cool songs.
My favorite pieces are, however, THEY SAID THAT Hell`s NOT HOT, which also neatly rocks next to a very horny text and a beautiful, stick in the ear lasting hook line and for me more and more About Song mutating JUST A CAR CRASH AWAY. Manson creaks and whispers a really bitter text of this Moody then rolled melody and rises at the end in a pained howl. And as this Hammergeile guitar solo! Just is not a metal solo. Rather (darkly) rock. But I finds great!
