Marvin Gaye is for me and millions of other the greatest soul singer ever!
Even today, many years after his untimely death, all black US singer look at him as her musical role model.
His music gets under your skin, has a soul (Soul) and leaves a simple no longer going on.
"The Best of Marvin Gaye" gives a good overview of his life's work and is certainly a good starting point for people who Marvin Gaye (yet) or hardly know.

But be careful: you are but once infected by "Marvin Gaye virus", then you always want to hear from him, there is no turning back!
I own all CDs of him some books about him.
Its probably the best album is most certainly "What's Going On".
I've heard it a few hundred times and yet I get on songs like "Inner City Blues", "What's Going On" or "Mercy, Mercy Me" still goosebumps.
