That they may be called an exceptionally good voice her own, is beyond doubt. But on an album full of cover versions of popular songs mostly of Souls it fails honorable. Because Dusty Springfields "Son Of A Preacherman", Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing", Randy Crawford's "One Day I`ll Fly Away" or Aretha Franklin's "I`ve Never Loved You" ... among other things, are at least one size too large. And it does not just speak for her interpretations of songs when a self-written track ("Soulicious") can not really tell.
With all good will - this album is just like those who do not have the originals in the ear. And that will nevertheless still be quite a lot.
