Maturation

Some things obviously need some time of maturation - that must be a wine cellar, a CD rack enough sometimes already. This applies in any case, for my relationship with Pieta Brown. Up to and including their Shimmer recording it was definitely for me so that I zuklappten ears when I only heard her Lucinda Williams voice, this greatly restrained, stretched and always easy nölig sounding .... that went for years not. After Shimmer was also concluded with other purchases. With weggelagerten CDs and closed ears it was in any case impossible to register, as finely tuned and balanced may be her music - especially on this, her third shot.
The fact that this sounds like so finely tuned, is certainly partly due to Pietas songs: that starts with smooth-Country, the general gives the keynote, is always present, actually rocking in the third song heavy going, which takes place rarely, just just this once, and reaches its climax already in intermediate second song Innocent Blue - a Soul title! actually Soul - very subtle Groove, supported by an excellent electric piano (Ricky Peterson) and the very minimalist exactly played electric guitar Bo Ramsey's. Bo Ramsey - the master of all Electric Guitar gaits and, indeed, as here, the production control. Class he gets the back sitting Song for song, sounds superficially very subdued, but uses so everything possible, ranging from blues-folk of her father, on country, folk and rock and roll to give to the already described Soul Influence ,
