I had connected with the cable a hub attached to the scanner 1, 2 printers and hard drives 1-2. After the cable change, there was constant and deregistration of a hard drive, which I had not previously with a 3 meter cable. I have therefore changed back again, even if the cable run is not quite as nice. The cable I keep anyway because other peripherals running so smoothly, and 5 m can certainly often times use.
