In the film, the connoisseurs sometimes noticed references to other horror classics like "Saw" or "Nigtmare on Elm Street".
Furthermore, the protagonists speak at some points of how Ghostface would act and that the killing spree was a kind of remake of the first "bar" movie (allusion to Scream 1).
In fact, Scream 4 is a remake of the first film.
The survivors from Sidney Part 1 returns to her home village and promptly begins a series of murders in which teenagers from Sidney's old high school to be killed.
Who is Ghostface, until the end remains open. The end is very sudden and surprising and a bit rushed.
Conclusion:
Scream 4 is exciting from beginning to end. The background music bears in my view not in as in other horror films to voltage. Only the distinctive voice of Ghostface ensures creepy mood.
But some people might be disturbed at frequent carnage and the many blood because it is killed almost continuously.
This you learn the characters do not really know and can not empathize with them and empathize with their hopeless situation. Ironically, this lack of identification with the characters is criticized for "Saw IV" at the start up.
The actors are up to Hayden Panettiere quite unknown and whose acting skills rather limited.
Overall I give "Scream 4" three stars for the atmosphere and the unexpected end. Thus Scream in my eyes is not a must for a genre fan but Scream fans should find their fun.
