Well, the directness and naivety of the previous album is no longer there, but for skillfully funky rhythms with the great voice of the lead singer, good melodies and perfect instrumentation are offered. The album is reminiscent in parts of Jamiroquai and funk bands of the 80s, mixed with poprockigen sounds.
The guitar solos (only with "Kiwi", a major highlight of the album, there is one) are missing something, but perhaps there is soon a brilliant live album and a live DVD, which certainly offered again by the Lead man is the one for me to become one of the coolest frontmen. His voice is just what particular and very catchy, unmistakable, his appearance mega cool.
Much is still supported by synths, is for me but for this style and an appreciation sounds good. The real instruments are not forgotten, even strings and trumpets are used primarily in the ballads for use.
A funky, sexy, cool album!
