In Zen monasteries there is the custom that the abbot is marching on with a sort of wooden paddle in hand behind the novices and from which sit lined up in Meditationspose. Every novice who falls asleep gets a decent blow on the back of the head. Such a paddle I wished while reading this little book often seems the author common sense which did not come completely lost, to be asleep but at least gently. Hoping I had a philosophical or spiritual approach which perhaps highlights the depth dimension of beekeeping. I've found a vain Poser. The author nearly came out very large claims to a Hollywood screenwriter, has but then decided after some discussion, that he would rather somehow rummacht in rural seclusion with bees. By contrast, nothing can be said except that he is not "somehow Rummachens" come out even after more than 10 years of practice of the state of. You can see very nice because he to the pursuits of the beekeeper in the winter not only the carpenters, candle making and meditation that counts, but also the continuing consideration how many bees, he probably has to order for spring, because he does not know whether he only one-third or even half of the back eingewinterten bee population received! That this is so seems to him an irrefutable law of nature and that the beekeepers, however, can do something, it does not even begin to come to mind. Just like anywhere reading a reference book or visiting a training event is mentioned. (Paddle !!!!) Who imkert so must, mention may be made of me a bee butcher. So: to Zen meditation is absolutely nothing wrong. But with all the advantages that it brings with it, a solid training beekeepers not replace. The book has a hard cover properly, maybe it replaced me once a paddle.
