An (official) unreleased concert from 1974 (48 hours before the famous Memphis Recorded live album, hence the title) and surfers, regular RCA recording quality it should be.
The label even presented a promotional film on YouTube to promote the upcoming release and continue to stir the fans.
Shortly before the release it was called then this CD is now in MONO? and in the relevant internet forums you could find that it should be at this show a kind of rough mix in mono and the original band would have disappeared - Aha.
The fact is visually the thing is quite in order, there is still the former only the so-called "Classic" albums reserved for large format therefore - incl. Bootleg.
The show itself is rock solid, with a strong "Steamroller Blues", but you missed it as "How Great Thou Art" showing on the "On Stage in Memphis" one of, if not THE highlight (Grammy) Album.
Add to this the "I Got A Woman" was damaged in the band and was patched here with parts of Memphis Show - which unfortunately also heard.
The sound is difficult to classify. For a simple soundboard recording it sounds too diferenziert, it does not sound really good but certainly also.
As a bonus there is to hear than Soundboard recordings a few songs of the tour. Very nice.
Overall, this CD is one that you can buy with a clear conscience, but certainly does not have to.
And FTD is advised next time the church to leave the village when they announce a new CD.
Addendum:
this show is re-released as a bonus on the second CD of the "Legacy Edition" of the On Stage In Memphis album soon, at half the price of what a normal FTD costs. Bizarrely, - and brazenly the show will be announced there as unreleased!
This one, on the 48 Hours ... "contained bonus content is not there to be included, but this really is not a reason, this CD still nachzukaufen!
The concert from this was taken out there completely on the FTD double CD set "Sold Out" which is thoroughly recommended for collectors!
