Singer Kate Stelmanis has a classical vocal training. Clearly audible in the sometimes pathetic Insentität her singing, which is often shrouded in velvety synthesizer sounds that have given her dark voice a partly threatening, partly melancholic corset.
The songs are dreamy this mid-tempo or even danceable, always balanced and following an internal concept. Who still wants to listen in a bit in this fascinating sound world: The opener DARKEN HER HORSE is a tribute to the British New Wave sound of the early 80s. THE BEAST a pure piano ballad that intense lyrics and voice are the necessary space Kate's, lets slip the debut and the listener (at least me) back with almost faltering breath.
WHAT for a debut, thumbs up! As we always like said earlier, I hope this band will not soon their peace of mind, so that they further produces such highlights.
