The red tears, Volume 1: Reminiscences (Paperback)

Customer Review

Georgia Caldera has created a universe that snatches here without delay, in which plunges with delight, the first shivers of pleasure and curiosity settling at the opening of the ball.

From the outset, the terrible visions assailant Cornelia, the strange content of dreams that haunt his nights and supernatural manifestations which she is the victim, pushing him to seek the origin of these torments. The ingenious narrative structure, alternating scenes and flashbacks of this dream, coupled with a majestic ambience woven of darkness and romanticism, easily manages to captivate and hold the reader spellbound.
Without anyone noticing, we are conquered viewer, devouring page after page. No hint of weariness comes not darken this exquisite diving in a world where exacerbate passions, pains and hopes, in a symphony at once macabre and sensitive. All orchestrated masterfully by this young author, whose pen traces the lines of tragic destinies, with precise and striking force. A feat which few writers are able in a first novel. A wide range of emotions snaking over his simple but evocative writing: Dread to pure fascination, at scenes as sublime as that of the Dance of the Vampires, where the beauty of places, toilets and these creatures sensual are equaled that violence, hatred and decadence gangrening their company under the deceptive veneer of appearances.

In all seriousness, I trembled, mice and even sometimes, was moved to tears at times by this novel. Yet it was not won.
Reader difficult to satisfy highly allergic to dripping sentimentality and stupidity which are often decked the love stories in many works' yet I felt here is prodding my heart with happiness of working girl! Georgia has managed to avoid these pitfalls with brio and make this infinitely human Henri, his nature first, then the centuries, sacrifices and disappointments had left cold and bitter. How not to succumb to the dark charm, class and the animal magnetism of Mr. DeMaltombes? At a time when some vampires sparkle in the sun and have as much depth and charisma than a turnip, it is a pure pleasure to cross this child of the night! About me, Henry wins hands down his right of entry into the closed circle of the lords of the vampire culture. Through this character, Georgia Caldera gives us a personal vision of blood drinkers, dusting the old clichés while respecting the legend. A significant fine for fans of the genre, perhaps as much as I struggled to find a figure at the height of a Dracula or Lestat. Complex and endearing character, he managed to provoke, like Cornelia, almost painful empathy for him. If the woman is at times quite annoying, it also ends up finding its way to the heart of the drive to rest there, inseparable from the dark lord, after the last page is turned. Until finally they return occurs in a second volume pretend too long to wait, barely tasted the first!

Lovers of vampires, of flamboyant and tormented souls, Gothic gore or even 'all that and more intertwines it for you, through the dense history, wonderful and tragic, two singular beings linked forever.

I swear, I searched negative points which point the finger to balance things out, but the quality of the entire rubber naturally small flaws. Reminiscences was a real thunderbolt. One of those rare novels that make their mark in the mind and imagination of the reader, and never leave him. No doubt one of the best vampire works that I have had the opportunity to read lately.

The suite will be very long to wait!
