The new S-Class (Audio CD)

Customer Review

While this first album under her real name is not Sabrina's debut, nor her breakthrough because they had to show already as Heaviest S some success, but it was a huge hit and hit in the charts like a bomb. In one fell swoop they sold million records and created "The new S-Class" a milestone of German rapeseed, which still exists today, and just as fresh and cool sounds like 1997. She was thus a pioneer and one of the first German Raperinnen.

The crude and aggressive language with Sabrina was here occurs then already something new. In English walk and add, you could see the clear words suddenly hear and understand in German. Clear knew you direct words also by groups like Fanta4 but most of individual titles. Sabrina fills so same time an entire album and even though this direct title seem not just radio friendly, she made the first single, "You do not love me" went straight to number 1 in the German single charts.

Part II - started with the intro "She lives," bursts of song as a bomb. Cool beats and a great sound to accompany Sabrina during her tirade against the Kokurrenz. Moses P. controls at a Rapstrophe and there is an aggressive but horny title.

You do not love me - settles the megahit in which Sabrina with her ex. The Heart pain is really perfectly presented, plus a super-catchy melody and a nice voice in the chorus (not by Sabrina Setlur). The sound impresses with melancholy string sounds and beautiful piano sounds that accompany the basic sound cool. Totally perfect title.

Rödelheim - A little sleepy comes "Rödelheim" therefore. The sound is relatively quiet with continuous piano primitives and Sabrina sounds pretty left almost dutifully. However, the text's again in itself. The invitation "Come, if you dare" you could almost follow because of bad text is recited sweetly.

Do you believe me - the best tracks on the album. Pensive text, beautiful melody, great sound with beautiful piano and guitar elements - a complete success, just a gorgeous, melancholy title. The chorus and the backing vocals here takes Xavier Naidoo, however, this was not yet known as the public him before his solo breakthrough.

Like a mirror - From sound like calm and worn as "Rödelheim" and also vocally resting Sabrina relatively contained. Lyrically harmless Sabrina employs a little to himself. No-flyer but also not a bad title.

Only me - top speed, cool electric guitars and an uninhibited rapping Sabrina Setlur. In every respect an act of liberation and lyrically the sequel to "You do not love me". Mega Geiler catchy.

I want to see - Now comes the song contrast to all other Album. A list of wishes of Sabrina Setlur how she wants to see the world. Soft sounds that seem almost angelic, this way, also contributes to the text. Nice to hear, but unfortunately wishful thinking ... ... "Meanwhile, in the world as we know it ..."

Soft - Do not be fooled, this is really nothing gently. The sound is superhot and entitled downright top form. Lyrically again a wicked challenge to the rapping competition. Funny detail: P. Moses, who also contributes a rap here gets out a proper bawling-out of Sabrina.

I Feel - The song seems bleak, has a long-drawn melancholy sound and a brilliant melody. Especially good sounds the intermediate part where creeps slowly back into an electric guitar solo of the original sound. A highlight of the album.

Freedom - Sabrina helped X. Naidoo with this title to the breakthrough. However, that was with the single version, on this album version sings namely Martin Haas and Xavier is not heard. A erklassiger Poptitel with beautiful melody and a cool danceable sound and beat. Small but nice detail in the sound: a recurring imitated gulls cry.

At that time - Locker gentle reminder anthem. Almost looks like the title of another album, nice and light-footed. Of course there's again some textual swipes.

Follow the Star - Cool dance number in which the sound seems sometimes a bit overloaded. As a guest rapper we hear Illmatic, which even at that time was still unknown and here recites the only English speaking Rap Album.

Machsoweita - Surrendering and come to terms with his destiny that gives this title. "I am fighting continues" ... even if it is meaningless. But the message that one should never give up. Both lyrically and technically sound melancholic and quiet. The long finale of the title with the original piano sound and a great guitar solo is beautiful and ends the album worthy.

At the mega-success of this album Sabrina Setlur never came zoom again. And indeed crept already the successor "From the perspective and with the words ..." some unsightly title. In addition, Sabrina continued their subsequent albums repeatedly in the same textual stitch from hate speech and accusatory words, the sounds heard little changes and so their music was a bit more interesting (at least to my ears) and the success did not materialize.

The album "The new S-Class" this does not detract from course - it's just great. And you can also see an object lesson of the German rap is well.
