Task:
Win7 3.5 inch SATA HD
Hard disk of a computer to exchange partially defective.
Defects HD is plugged into Slot 1 (the button)
New HD is plugged into Slot 2 (USB / AC adapter).
Press the button and admire lightshow.
No! Computer connection required.
Sequence as described in the instructions.
In my case, the copy took about 45 minutes, so do not get impatient.
New HD is formatted and partitioned in the size of the old drive.
The unneeded available balance of the HD must then use the built-WIN7 Tools (Disk Management) or a formatted or partitioned Partionsmanager.
Otherwise, this space is not available.
Computer is in the BIOS will automatically set the new hard drive type on first boot.
New HD must have at least the storage capacity of since then.
In my case: defective approximately 0.5 TB New: ca a TB.
The new HD does not have to be formatted before.
The instructions for use is something misleading.
Only when the hard disk via USB is connected to the computer, the hard drive must be formatted may be partitioned.
Otherwise they will not be detected.
Conclusion:
Do what it should.
Has saved me a lot of time, since no re installations of various programs were needed.
As a permanent institution for the operation not intended by external hard drives, since the cooling is missing.
Buying has really paid off.
Delivery fast and well packed.
Replace hard drive in laptop against model with more storage space: Next project.
