Almost all things in the game can be connected. You can smash chains so as to induce traps then particularly spectacular throws the opponent to the ground, bringing pillars to collapse and boxes and arrows around a campfire ignited so as to increase the damage effect. But the spells are very spectacular. So you can for example, shrink enemy, or freeze the ground on which opponents slip. During the fight, the player gets adrenaline, which enables the players to perform particularly brutal actions.
The multiplayer mode is as in "Battelfild", except that it takes place in a fantasy world and not on the battlefields of the modern world. In plain English, this means that two parties are fighting for different control points, which are distributed on the map. Each of these parties has different units, such as warriors, sheet protectors, magicians, healers and assassins. This can carry out various special actions. The thief can for example provide death and so outwit opponents. In the version shown on the GC the multiplayer did not really fun. The card was quite bare and the selected map with 16 players still quite lengthy. In the final version, up to 32 players to frolic on a map, which will hopefully bring momentum into the game. The multiplayer is probably as HL 2, run through Steam.
There should also be a map editor, but if this is already included in the retail version is not yet known.
Conclusion: Who is a role playing game expected to be disappointed as Dark Messiah is more an action than an RPG. The single player part is done very well and because of the many ways offers a high replayability. The multiplayer part was as I said when I played version is not very intoxicating, but not finished yet. If the multiplayer still gets a finishing touch, Dark Messiah is a allround game in a class with both a thrilling single player and a great multiplayer mode. However, it is very brutal and thus the classification "Not suitable for young" more than justified.
