Despite Schmunzeleien was for me personally Shantel's new album no revelation. For known are the melodies to the individual songs are related to his old albums (although that may have been partially justified) and soggy and plump sound the "thriller" Album (no comparison to "Buvovina" on the Bucovina Club CD).
The Balkans per se is seen not only musically really a treasure chest. But Shantel digs just my opinion, far too long on the same hole.
Who "more" or "more colorful" wants to time, for example, to the two plates of OMFO grab (the Trans Balkan Express is indeed a little interwoven with Shantel and this disc sounds really like a modernized sightseeing tour through the Balkans) or maybe go to the same glorious radical Gogol Bordello. Or the "Borat Soundtrack" buy - which is namely really colorful (and Shantel is with it).
So. Two very disappointed but stars from me. Who good cheer fresh on Shantel and easy-catchy beats like, is perhaps more to the album have his joy. For Shantel connoisseurs but stop unfortunately only a "so-so".
