Robert Palmer died aged 54, in 2003. Blessed with a good voice and a good taste in music, he started his career in music in the late 1960s and began his solo career in the 1970s. This cheap compilation has most of his solo hits Iceland Records. Though a jazz / R & B fan at heart, Palmer branched out in the 1980s, with "dance" tracks: such as his cover of the cult-ish 'You're In My System' and thus with synth pop: such as 'Johnny & Mary' (a big hit in France, as Renault Took it up for a TV ad) and 'Looking For Clues'. The version here of 'Addicted To Love' sounds like an overlong 12 '' Extended Version, but the song is good. You'll therefore get 'Every Kind Of People' (another big hit in France, and another TV ad, this time for Heineken beer), 'Bad Case Of Loving You' (in Which while covering a track by Moon Martin, R. Palmer Invents the sound ZZ Top came up with years later with Eliminator (Collector's Edition)), a nice cover of 'Pressure Drop' and many other good tracks. Accompaniment comes from Little Feat, The Meters and Gary Numan, among others.
