Jean-Joseph Mouret, two works on this CD: 1) with trumpets Fanfares (1: Maurice André, 2 Marcel Lagorce), violins, oboes and timpani; it is a very lively and festive music with beautiful themes; 2) Following symphonies, violin, oboe, mingled with hunting horns. These rooms are remarkable and extremely difficult for hunting horns which are played perfectly. It is unfortunate that the booklet does not specify who the performers (this is also the case for trumpet fanfares, whose names I found by doing research).
Then there was Jean-Baptiste Lully, the Suite symphonies of Amadis, with violins, trumpets, timpani ... The themes are rich and varied orchestration.
Finally, we find a French Suite by an anonymous composer (disciple of Lully?). There emerges a great balance of this work, less contrast than previous.
This CD remastered from analog tape quality, is made of excellent performances with very good sound recording. I highly recommend it.
