It is extremely difficult to review this CD, without resorting to the knowledge and emotional attachment of the film, because the soundtrack is designed so atmospheric that you again see the images of this great anime in the spirit in front of him. I believe that the CD also objectively can serve as very evocative accompaniment of a successful evening and is musically so well done that you always have to call back to mind is that there does not a proper orchestra. There prevails a rollercoaster of emotional and dramatic pieces, the latter mainly come into their own at the end. Pieces with vocals are only represented three times - more would not bother me personally, but Japanese singing talents to Western ears is certainly a bit strange. The booklet is unfortunately a bit thin, but nice is the translation of "Mononoke Hime" text that fits well in English on the melody.
