James Horner has created the unmistakable dramatic music for a film that will stay to anyone who looked at him in remembrance. I have rarely landscapes, dramatic art and music as such unit felt like in this movie!
. Alone No 5 "Samuel`s Death", the cry of the dying Samuel, symbolized by the blazing "cries" of the flute - incredibly soulful interplay of image and sound!
The booklet of the CD allows one the impression, one would keep the film in hands. The scenes and "family photos" brought to life for a moment the memory of the moving images.
There is little movie music that one digs the scenery of the film so aware of the farthest corners of memory - this here is one of these very few!
At some point it seems the way parallels TITANIC (years after Legends of the Fall composed) to hear .... - Horner sounds just like Horner - and that's never previously been a disadvantage!
Should I look for comparable good music - I would at "The Dances with Wolves" by John Barry, or partially be found in the parts of "Lord of the Rings" composed by Howard Shore!
