My Recommendation:
The software installation is not absolutely necessary. For my purposes, I can completely do without it, and it even offers advantages. In one such software "eats" the program deep into the system and set it up monitoring services that I did not consume. These could possibly cause problems. Use the boot CD can also be used as True Image. The program is even more clearly and all the basic functions are available. Backups of the system should considerably more easily take place because Windows is not active. It can be changed during the backup so no files. In my view, a big plus! The return games will then also much easier on the hand.
My strategy:
- Primary backup using the Windows' own image function (has always worked, but needs a lot of space).
- Secondary backup using True Image via boot CD, no installation of software.
- Duplication of backups to a second external HDD.
Conclusion: The program works as it should and provides several options for the varying needs of a user. Recommended!
