Black Holes & Revelations (digipack) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Black Holes & Revelations thus is the fourth album. Months ago, the band has announced that this album will be a journey through different styles of music and every song should sound different than previously known. But do not worry - it's still muse namely supergut! Muse had always been quite experimental, as evidenced in part sloping B-Sides, but now they go to a record new ways, opening up new possibilities and avoid the danger of being written off as a band that plays it safe ,

The album is excellently produced. It was used a lot of synths and effects, there are many background vocals - it all sounds full and round.

Track 01: Take A Bow - 10/10
The song starts quite calm and then builds up pretty clever dominated by synthesizers Step by step on, is getting stronger and more intense, both instruments and the vocals before quasi explodes at the end! Quite what new Muse with outstanding lyrics, such as "our freedom's consuming itself, what we've become is contrary to what we want". With the best thing that Muse has ever made!

Track 02: Starlight - 08/10
A very nice pop number with good lyrics, good bassline, a very nice song and catchy. When Matt "Hold you in my arms, I just wanted to hold you in my arms" sings you get almost a little goose bumps. Only 08/10, because the song is too catchy.

Track 03: Supermassive Black Hole - 09/10
The first single in Europe and certainly a shock to many Muse fans. Passages like "Oooh baby" does not know one of Bellamy. The song is sung in falsetto throughout and is very danceable and grooving total. Muse uses a different genre (say Electro-Pop-Rock) and makes it fantastic. Courageous!

Track 04: Map of the Problematique - 10/10
Electric Piano and a trance-like melody, according 40SEK sets the guitar properly and Matt sings inimitable "fear and panic in the air". Super stanzas, super chorus, great drum solo and just a super sound. 1A!

Track 05: Soldier's Poem - 08/10
Is only 2:04 long and you could almost be called a kind of interlude. Very nice quiet song sung from the perspective of a soldier. Lots of background vocals singing at the end then: ". There's no justice in the world And there never was." About .. Really good and a transition gelungender

Track 06: Invincible - 09/10
Starts quiet and builds nicely on the first highlight when Matt Bellamy sings: "during the struggle, theywill pull us down" - really great! Then notify the bass and it uses a fat guitar riff, which merges into a great tapping solo before we can again go up in Matt's fantastic voice. Gripe: the lyrics "Tonight we can truly sing, together we're invincible" are a little well ..

Track 07: Assassin - 10/10
Anschallen! A Knight Rider excessive intro begins and after a few seconds it goes off properly. Guitar and bass make a lot of pressure and Dom's drums were never better. The riffs rock without end! Verses and chorus are great and quite clever underpinned by a strong background vocals. Great song that makes fun. A little the Stockholm Syndrome of this album.

Track 08: Exo-Politics - 09/10
How Assassin this song was played here last year on the US Tour. Muse has excellently worked and made a super good song out of it. Fettes reef that is alternately or simultaneously played by guitar and bass. Very cool Lyrics "When the Zetas fill the skies, it's just our leaders in disguise". The song totally grooving and it falls to stay a while sitting hard quiet - just fun!

Track 09: City of Delusion - 10/10
Another highlight. Begins with an acoustic guitar, then sets a super good bassline and a southern European sounding orchestra and Matt sings with incredible force, "I want to avenge. Justify my reasons with your bloody hand." Then comes a break and you can hear just a megagroovige bassline accompanied by a few seconds of a cool guitar riff. Second Chorus and when you think now is the same conclusion provides Muse nor a trumpet solo! Bright Lights! Fantastic varied and with incredible vocals of Matt Bellamy!

Track 10: Hoodoo - 10/10
The brilliant second half of the album continues with Hoodoo. A quiet number that sounds partially a bit like "Bang Bang" by N. Sinatra. Supertext - wonderfully soulful singing. After the quiet start will come in the middle part a piano vigorously and Matt sings in a majestic manner, "Come to be, how did it come to be?" Whoever does not get goose bumps ticking incorrect. But when Matt shortly afterwards "Do not be afraid" yelps while inserting gorgeous strings, you have to get goose bumps! At the end it gets very quiet again and fragile. The best 'Ballade', the Muse has ever made.

Track 11: Knights Of Cydonia - 10/10
For me, the perfect last song! The intro to the "Aaaah aaaaah aaaaaaaah" sounds and unwind after a completion. Then this is a Western-style galloping riff and Matt Bellamy brings a mega brilliant falsetto at best "Micro Cuts" style accompanied by trumpets! It sounds absurd, but it is the Upper awesome! Now comes a little singing, before there is a break for great middle part, where a lot of Matt Bellamy in queen-like manner "No one's going to take me alive ..." screaming in his ear. And then you feel even, equal, it must pop. The drums are fast and then sets an ingenious guitar riff in to finish the song and the album on an absolute high!

Conclusion: After listening to 50 times, I dare to say this album is in my opinion better than showbiz and absolution, and very close to Origin of Symmetry! Fantastic singing, the drums have never been better, the songs are varied, built intelligent and Lyrics (part of legal policy) largely convincing! Only the piano has come very shortly, but there are lots of new impressions! So: Buy and especially several times to hear - some songs tap into a not immediately, but the thing is done! Have Fun :-)
