Massive Attack deserved a best of by now. There is of course the case that brought together all of their singles with remixes, but it only covered the period 90-98. 'Collected' happens so perfectly for an update on their work. It is better to purchase the limited edition, for once really gives us something extra. All singles are there, plus a new title, "Live with me" beautiful with singer Terry Callier. A beautiful musical portrait, and can only see the importance of their contribution to music. In the early 90s, when pop and rock were losing steam, that hip hop was emerging noticed and techno was still in its infancy, Massive Attack threw a bomb with a a debut album that mixed approach 'undergrgound', hip hop, very cinematographic use ropes, dub rhythms to experimental soundscape worked very visual but also and above all a spleen that reflected well its time. The album will have only confirmed their talent, and the group has remained true to his universe, a current which is labeled trip hop ', while still extending his musical field. The songs have not aged. It is a pleasure to (re) hear the voices of Tracy Thorn, Liz Frazer, Shara Nelson and Horace Andy.
A second disc offers a DVD side with all their videos, and on the other of re-recorded versions of some songs, unreleased, superb version of 'I want you' Marvin Gaye with Madonna as vocalist, and a title pulled their music for the film 'Danny the Dog'. A sound and visual journey!
To have, even if you already have all their albums!
