Before singing this work as an amateur, I listened to several interpretations: it seems to me the best. It lies just as it should be between versions too "abstract", say transparent to want too spiritual, and those too lyrical to exaggerated vibrato. Here, the voices are sufficiently fleshy, inhabited for passing the human side of the tragedy of the crucifixion, without overdoing it. A good special item for bass.
