I purchased a few weeks ago the Lenovo G50-70 through Amazon. The notebook has given me, especially for the price, very much and would "almost mine" become ...
For device:
Purchased for EUR 339, - is the G50-70 with i5 processor a very good offer. Who can live and a little simple keyboard with a reflective display with a low resolution (1368x768), gets a lot of notebook for the little money.
What I liked:
The Lenovo G50-70 makes on me, especially when one considers the price, a good impression. The case looks good workmanship, the power supply (45W) is pretty small and the handling does not pose any questions.
In operation, the Lenovo G50-70 is pleasantly quiet and runs, despite the rather "small" batteries, nevertheless 3h - 4h without power.
It is 100% of Linux (Ubuntu u. Linux Mint (quasi-Ubuntu)). - For people who do not want a Windows, so probably a 100% recommendation.
What was neutral:
The keyboard is, as with other "cheap" notebooks not the last word. Compared to other devices I found them "not OK".
KO criterion (for me):
Reason why I have my Lenovo returned G50-70, was the BIOS.
Unfortunately, you can not make this machine to "Legacy" (normal mode) the boat mode.
While there is no problem to install an operating system "in classic mode" (Legacy first), but denied Windows 8 (and probably Windows 7) to operate. It can not be installed in legacy mode and also denied the operation ,, if it finds an already installed system to a MBR partition.
This is a shame as I would like to keep the computer.
Conclusion:
4/5 stars for what is offered
If I had my system on the Lenovo G50-70 get installed (target was a EUR 350, - Mac Pro (Hackintosh) with natively installed Windows 8), the computer would certainly not go back, if only because it is so quiet and under Linux or Windows really feels good. So he would get 5/5 stars.
Although the device supports both legacy boat, as well as EFI, but like Windows 8 (and probably Windows 7) Do not install if already
