The device has a Scart and Videochinch output and a scart input. The output provides either the signals CVBS, S-Video and RGB. If you want to use S-Video, you must use an adapter. For me, the S-Video output worked but only with a specific (expensive) adapter. The other compact adapters the screen remained black. Is that on the device?
The sound can also be tapped via separate RCA outputs and a Dolby Digital output.
Under one stone still has two slots for Pay-TV cards.
The LED indicator includes time and station.
The menus can navigate with relative ease.
The remote control is very large, but otherwise from the usability ago OK.
The TV reception
Only digital cable channels are installed. As all private and public channels are broadcast over the digital cable television now as good. But be careful, because not every cable provider offers all programs free of charge. So definitely check beforehand what stations can be received on what terms. Otherwise big disappointment!
The device may display the detailed program information. For example, you can, while advertising is running, display what program comes to advertising and a brief description of the contents. Very convenient.
You can leave also display a second TV in the corner, to see when the advertising is over. Fortunately, the function works very well and is very easy to use. Indeed, there are devices in which the function is to be controlled so complicated is that you prefer can equal. But Picture in Picture is here super easy and convenient! A disadvantage here, however, the device: The function is not available while a program is recorded.
The hard disk recorder function
One can, while you look a program, pause the program spontaneously and after a pause (loo, Call) continue watching. While you continue to watch the recording you can even coil. The Timeshift function works fine.
You can also record the current program manually or schedule recordings manually. The electronic program guide makes programming even particularly easy. However, the device can only record a program at the same time.
The recordings can be permanently archived on the built-in 80GB hard drive. However, the device has no way to transfer the images directly to other devices such as a PC or DVD recorder. However, this has the advantage that a certain copy protection is guaranteed and you can thus also record copy-protected content to the device. Private stations encrypt their contents reportedly against the record in a digital cable. The device can also record those broadcasts convenient when you can not be at home. If necessary, you can dub the analog contents well. But what is consuming.
The interface functions I have honestly not tried. I'm not the type who rumfriemelt in such programs long.
The data stored on the hard disk contents are reproduced without loss of quality. Negative but I noticed that you can only coils with a maximum of ten times the normal speed. There is also no way of capital or minutes to skip. The fast-forward an eight-minute commercial break can therefore ever take 45 seconds. This is in my opinion the biggest drawback of the device.
Conclusion
The device is quite low compared to (in the digital cable area rare sowed) competition. It maintains, however, what it promises. It is more suitable for the people who want to record what times in their absence. For people who want to record and archive many programs, it does not offer the appropriate functions. The need to have set a proper DVD Fesplatten recorder.
