Frankly, it has been written about this "concept" much nonsense. But seriously, it's about music, not about any art form that anyway Neil Young least interested. And the music has succeeded in this case. Neil invents a new form of rock, with 2 to 3 chords, but not archaic as punk, but in calm waters. Each song flows so to speak, over to the next, it creates a hypnotic context. The CD needs to be heard at a time, not dismembered. Certainly no radio hit is there, but he has since even necessary? The fact that the CD is not the number 1 in the charts is, is quite clear. But this music is too strenuous. Whosoever therefore takes time to find the pearls, which opens up a new rock world. The BonusDVD is incidentally very well done, not by the cinematic ago, but it is interesting to see Neil with a handful of audience. That the songs are recorded purely acoustic is amazing. Certainly one or the other version is still better managed than in the "normal" CD.
