Who chose to not only espresso or coffee, but sometimes hot chocolate, cocoa or even tea would, for only the Tassimo eligible. (The pleasure-tea drinkers certainly shakes at the thought of drinking tea from capsules ...!?!).
My subsequent assessment therefore relates only to my personal use, namely, only espresso (90%) and sometimes to drink a cup of coffee (10%).
And since the Nespresso machine is clearly against the Tassimo advantage, if only because of the preparation and of the extensive offer of espresso varieties.
For about 4 years I use a Tassimo machine and now I have also gained the Nespresso CITIZ Titan Krups XN 720T about 1 month before me. Why? Simply because his best Tassimo Espresso varieties (Mastro Lorenzo Espresso Intenso - original Italian Espresso) which has been unfortunately only distributed through Internet, no longer manufactures.
After loud Stiftung Warentest the CITIZ performed best (test in October 2013) with regard to the sensor and Nespresso mE has the better espresso offer, the decision was clear.
And first: I have not looked back!
Sensors and coffee offer:
clear winner: Nespresso
Is probably among other things, the fact that Nespresso has the best selection of coffee varieties and works with 19 bar pressure, Tassimo only with 2-3 bar. In addition, the beverage from the Nespresso machine is prepared hot. Preparation time for an espresso: Tassimo about 65 seconds, at the Nespresso about 45 sec.
Both have more than 20 coffees on offer. Especially in espresso Nespresso offer but has the edge again: more choice and also the creamier.
Handling and robustness of the machine:
Both machines are robust, the Nespresso to something high end impression makes (more stainless steel parts). But my Tassimo did not let me in the past 4 years once down and ran without any problems. From handling slight advantage for the Nespresso -The closing mechanism of the capsules is smoother than in the Tassimo.
Volume: -the advantage Tassimo Nespresso is a bit louder (but not bother me).
Clean the machine and decalcify:
The clear winner in the cleaning effort is the Tassimo, because there the water flow technology is a better solution and a little larger bin will be used.
In addition, the (in my opinion totally unnecessary!) Capsule collection container requires at Nespresso unnecessary, additional cleaning effort.
And above all, what the Nespresso designers have thought only thereby form the front cover of this capsule collection box in corrugated plastic? The fact is hardly clean, let alone get as dry! Absolute Fehlkonstruktion!
The Entkalkungsaufwand however, is the same for both machines.
Conclusion:
Prepared as the Nespresso taste the best espresso (5 Stars) it is my favorite.
Nevertheless, I forgive a total of only 4 stars because of the cleaning effort in this machine is still in need of improvement.
