Gaucho (1980) is the last album the first Steely Dan - creative phase. The predecessor Aja was hailed as a masterpiece; Gaucho never got in my opinion the recognition it deserved. For music - aesthetes, for high-end purists album is the revelation. SD - studio albums are all nearing perfect, so 99.9% strength plus x. However Gaucho shows the perfectionism of the creative duo Becker / Fagen most clearly. 30 (thirty !!!) years later, but it still sounds fresh, jazzy, groovy, casual, cool ...... This music can be heard over and over again. For fans and music enthusiasts a must !!! - PS alone the lyrics are congenial!
