That would divide the fan base that song, it was already clear when I first heard me.
Shortly my opinion about Linkin Park in:
It's not the Linkin Park, which introduced many or how they weigh Linkin Park in memory.
This song is different, new and, in my view certainly as good as most other / older Linkin Park songs.
The guys from LP have always been able to expand their music on multiple levels, then at times of Hybrid Theory, it was Rock / Rap, Meteora and fell even in this scheme, the songs were a bit poppy there. Then came Minutes to Midnight and LP playing Pop / Rock - successful and good pop / rock and now comes this song and leaves on an electric / Rock Album think.
But precisely this development like me - Linkin Park moves with the times. Nevertheless, I want back the good old rocking tunes at times of HT and Meteora, because me this music liked most basically.
Now comes this new single and provides everything dargewesende in the background. A lot of fans react shocked the old guys want again. No wonder, this music is not the music that LP played as most of us have become fans. This is not a "One Step Closer", not "crawl", not "In The End" and many other not - and the music of that time was also damn good and new - baptized as alternative rock - something never dagewesendes.
This is in my eyes but also something never dagewesendes something new. Fresh Sound, a band that knows what she wants.
And the way it should go in my opinion. The boys are doing their thing, free to do what they like. For we are but to be honest, so far they have yet every concert hall rocked incredibly - and they will continue to do - I'm sure!
Now I wait for the album and am as happy as a little child to hear the board on his birthday. A Thousand Suns is also different, just like this single and I'm extremely heoß to learn it, what Linkin Park still has to come up.
To exult some fans of the old music, Mike Shinoda had announced that some rockier songs as these are found here on the album.
Since I am also already on it - and the new, experimental music - great!
The Catalyst gets me 5 stars. This is music that is fun - the band and the listener - it must be music.
