New Direction

With this album, WASP draws a line under the past. No more songs to the binary rhythm and greasy agreements up to a desired music, heavy metal racy, over worked, Solicitating in solos, and a much better mastered singing. The guitars are sharp, WASP gained speed, but especially in consistency: the texts are more focused on sex or gore but on subjects more "serious" drugs such (WASP always against mitité) or religion. The group manages to create moods through longer titles, almost epic, inspired with intros, I think especially "The heretic" and "The Headless Children", 2 of the best pieces of heavy metal from the eighties . In addition, we are treated to a good acoustic as completely instrumental ("Mephisto Waltz") and a pretty ballad ("Forever free"). Perhaps the best band in the album (with "The Crimson Idol" released in 1992), but in any case, a real little gem heavy metal.
